150 years German Shooting Federation

150 years German Shooting FederationThe German Shooting Federation with 1.4 million members in over 15,000 clubs in the fourth largest in professional sports association in the German Olympic Sports Confederation. It is divided into 20 regional associations. In addition to the Olympic disciplines rifle, pistol and clay target arch serves the German Shooting Federation, the non-Olympic running target areas, muzzleloader, bow box, crossbow and summer Biathlon. Since 1951, the DSB has its headquarters in Wiesbaden.

From this time there is evidence some 800 clubs that were established before 1700. After the Thirty Years’ War, the rifle associations lost significance. They were then asked again only when the liberation wars against Napoleon, or as a militia during the Revolution of 1848.
