Big Head Buddha appears mostly when a new year commences. There are various stories about the origin of Big Head Buddha, but mostly, it appears with lions. According to the legend, the lion was a spiritual animal in Buddhism, and it seeks deeper enlightenment about Buddha’s teachings.

Korean energy company SK E&S Co. said Tuesday (March 13) that it will establish a joint venture with China Gas Holdings Ltd in an effort to tap the potentially lucrative Chinese market. Under a deal signed in Hong Kong, SK E&S and China Gas Holdings, one of China's top three city gas companies, will invest US$10 million each in the joint venture, tentatively named China Gas-SK Energy Holdings Co., the Korean company said. The two companies plan to push for city gas business projects in China through the joint venture, and diversify the business to make it a general energy company, SK E&S said.
