Republic of Belarus will issue a souvenir sheet to celebrate 10 years of the Foundation Treaty of the Union State on 8 December 2009.

On December 8, 1999 the session of the Supreme Council of Belarus and Russia was held in Moscow. After the session the Presidents B. N. Yeltsin and A. G. Lukashenko signed the Treaty about the foundation of the Union State (Belarus-Russia) and the Plan of its realization. On January 26, 2000 the Treaty came into force.
