On November 27, 1859 the newspaper “Gubernskiye vedomosti” reported that the first telegraph stations in Minsk and Bobruisk started to work. So 150 years ago the development of telegraph communication in Belarus began.

At present Minsk telegraph is the main national telegraphic communication centre. National telecommunication operator RUP “Beltelecom” provides some services based on telegraphic communication in Belarus.
Communication in any place, at any time, without obstacles began from the simple telegraph, and in Belarus — from the telegraph line between Minsk and Bobruisk.
