On 21st June 1909, Jersey’s Head Post Office opened in Broad Street, St Helier and Jersey Post will celebrate the centenary in 2009 with a Miniature Sheet.

Painted by Colleen Corlett, the stamp within the Miniature Sheet will feature the facade of the Broad Street Post Office building, circa 1909, with telegram boys outside whilst the Miniature Sheet surround depicts how Broad Street appeared during the same era. Both images were painted using actual period photographs of Broad Street for reference.

The First Day Cover envelope illustration shows Broad Street, including the Post Office Building, as it is today whilst the Presentation Pack features Jersey’s purpose built postal Headquarters at Rue des Pres, St Saviour which was opened in 1996.
