Australia post issued a set of stamp featuring Australian Kingfishers. Australian Kingfishers comprise a distinctive and spectacular group.

There are 95 species worldwide, 10 occurring in Australia. Two species are endemic – the Red-backed Kingfisher and the Laughing Kookaburra – and eight are shared with other countries.

This new stamp issue comprises four denominations, featuring the following Kingfisher species:
* 60c Red-backed Kingfisher (Todiramphus pyrrhopygius ).
* $1.20 Sacred Kingfisher (Todiramphus sanctus ).
* $1.80 Blue-winged Kookaburra (Dacelo leachii ).
* $3.00 Yellow-billed Kingfisher (Syma torotoro ).
