15 Years of the Rainbow Parade

The Rainbow Parade is a political demonstration held once a year on the Vienna Ringstrasse in the form of a rumbustious and colourful procession proclaiming support for equal treatment of homosexuals. (In comparison, similar events held under the name Christopher Street Day in Germany are extremely well-known.)

The Vienna Rainbow Parade is the largest event of the gay, lesbian, queen, bisexual and transgender movement in Austria. The first parade took place 15 years ago, on 29 June 1995.
