The Brazil post issued a stamp in honor of President Tancredo de Almeida Neves.

Tancredo de Almeida Neves was born on March 4, 1910, in Sao Joao del Rei, Minas Gerais. He was councilman in his hometown congressman, Congressman, Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs (in the second Vargas), Prime Minister (1961 to 1962) during the parliamentary system, the senator and governor of Minas Gerais. On January 15, 1985 was elected President of the Republic, the Electoral College, representing the opposition party. On the eve of the inauguration, on the night of March 14, 1985, was admitted with abdominal problems. With the worsening of their clinical condition, died on April 21, 1985, in Sao Paulo.
