Jubilee of Independence in African


French post issued a stamp commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the independence of French colonies in Africa.

2010 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the independence of 14 former French colonies in Africa – Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Gabon, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Chad and Togo. The objectives of this commemoration, reaffirm, clarify and renew the Franco-African relations in 2010, the diplomatic, military, economic, highlighting in particular the attention of youth, our shared history and our common culture, and enhance the role and place of Africans in France.
