Lietuvos Paštas for the first time issued a postage stamp dedicated to the St. Easter.
St. Easter – a Christian Feast, symbolising the Resurrection of Jesus. The Christian Easter is celebrated after the equinox of the spring (March 21), on the first Sunday of the full moon.
The period of St. Easter festivals in Lithuania starts with Verb? Sekmadienis (Palm Sunday) and finishes with Atvelykis (first Sunday after St. Easter).
The St. Easter Feast includes pagan elements – colouring and decoration of eggs. Margu?iai – decorated eggs – are the symbol of resurrection, spiritual regeneration of a person. The eggs are the most important dish of St. Easter.
