INDIPEX 2011 – World Philatelic Exhibition

INDIPEX 2011 World Philatelic Exhibition is to held from 12th to 18th February, 2011, at New Delhi, India. It is being organized by India Posts, Government of India, in association with the Philatelic Congress of India. The Federation International Philatelic (FIP) is extending its patronage, and the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP) its auspices, for conduct of the Exhibition.

The first of such international philatelic exhibitions In India was organized in a small way in 1954 as part of the centenary celebrations of the Indian postage stamp. This was followed by INDIPEX-73 International Philatelic Exhibition held in New Delhi from 14 to 23 November 1973.

National Stamp Exhibition “ Pakistan 2009 “


The Stamp Society of Pakistan with the collaboration of Dawn Group, Pakistan Post, and under patronage of Philatelic Federation of Pakistan organized a National Stamps Exhibition-“Pakistan 2009” from 20-22 November, 2009 at Expo Centre, Karachi. This was largely attended on all three days and the 110 Frames exhibition attracted crowed of all ages. We congratulate Mr. Iqbal Nanjee President SSOP for holding this excellent Exhibition.

Stampmania 2009: Special covers

All philately exhibitions brings special covers, booklets and other postal stationary with them. Any philately exhibition is incomplete without special issues. During Stampmania 2009 a souvenir, a carried cover and four special covers, one for each day, were issued.

A souvenir was released containing messages from President of India, Chief minister of Gujarat, Chief postmaster General of Gujarat as well as some great articles by various philatelists.

Vadodara also have two permanent pictorial cancellation – Chamar Dharani (H.O) and Maharaja Sayajirao (Fategunj).

Stampmania 2009: Exhibition Visit


My visit to Stampmania 2009 was an amazing experience. I would like to share my experience and images of visit to exhibition. There were large no of participants exhibiting their collection on various themes like Gandhiji, Climate change, reptiles, sports, olympic, Taj Mahal, etc.

Stampmania 2009: Day 1 – Photo Gallery


The first day of Stampmania 2009 was amazing. A bullock tram and cultural dance in the heritage walk were worth watching. There was a grand opening of stampmania by Ms. Karuna Pillai, a chief postmaster general of Gujarat circle.

Stampmania 2009: Day 1 – Inauguration Ceremony

Inauguration ceremony of STAMPMANIA 2009 was held at Shree Saurashtra Leuva Patel Samaj Building, at 5:30 pm. Everyone is assemble in the hall for the opening ceremony, the guests are here, the cover carried on Bullock tram has also arrived.

Stampmania 2009: Day 1 – Heritage walk through Stamps

Today is the first day of most awaiting event “STAMPMANIA 2009″, the first one frame national philatelic exhibition. We are here to give you all the updates of the exhibition directly from Baroda.

philatelynews_stampmania2009_007The event started with the heritage walk through stamps of India. It was flagged off by Ms. Karuna Pillai, Chief Postmaster General of Gujarat Circle, from Head post office Vadodara at 2:00 pm to move upto Kirti Mandir.

A Bullock Tram carrying a special cover from Head post office to exhibition venue was a special attraction. It shows the earlier postal system of Vadodara. Bullock Tram service, carrying posts was started by Maharaja Khanderao between Miyagam and Dabhoi.
