Monaco post issued a stamp to celebrate the Centenary of The Lycee Albert 1st.
To counterbalance the development of religious establishments, Prince Albert 1er decided to found a secular high school on 25 September 1910. The building was originally a convent raised in the 17th century. In 1960, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its foundation, Prince Rainier III gave the name of his grandfather to the establishment: the Lycée de Monaco became the Lycée Albert 1er.
