Coats of Arms of Latvian Towns and Municipalities 2016

Latvijas Pasts came up with annual stamp series Coats of Arms of Latvian Towns and Municipalities depicting the coats of arms of Alsunga, Beverina and Smiltene Municipalities.

Latvijas Pasts has been issuing the series Coats of Arms of Latvian Towns and Municipalities since 1991, by supplementing it with new stamps on an annual basis.

The stamps and the cover have been designed by the artist Girts Griva.

Coats of Arms of Latvian Towns and Municipalities

The stamp with a denomination of €0.50 is dedicated to the coat of arms of Alsunga Municipality and depicts the magnificent golden ring fibula, glorified in songs. The stamp of €0.50 is suitable for mailing a regular Class B letter to any address in Latvia.

The stamp with a denomination of €0.57 depicts the coat of arms of Beverina Municipality, which features a fibula with signs important to Latvians and symbols of figurative meaning. The denomination corresponds to the cost of sending a regular Class A letter within Latvia.

The stamp with a denomination of €1.39 features the coat of arms of Smiltene Municipality. The base of the coat of arms is gold-colored and it depicts a blue cornflower with nine petals, symbolizing the entire Municipality: the town of Smiltene and eight surrounding parishes. The denomination corresponds to the cost of mailing a registered Class B letter within Latvia.
