Thailand post issued a set of stamps featuring various zinc toys found in Thailand. Tin Toys made of Zinc are lighter and more durable than those made of wood.
Operated by mechanical springs, these toys come in a great variety; for example, a boy riding a tricycle, an array of animals, boats, trains going into a cave and daring plane flights.
These toys are shaped without being molded but with the insertion of small metal valves to make them interlock. At first, the designs were hand painted but more recently hand painting has been replaced by the lithography technique.
