London 2012 Olympic Games – Estonia

Modern Olympic Games are a cultural event, the culmination of the Olympic movement that brings together sportsmen from all the five continents to a great sports festival that unites athletes from all over the world.

The 30th Olympic Summer Games will take place from July 27 until August 12 in London, the British capital and it will become the first city to host the Games for the third time. For the first time London was the scene of the Olympic Games in 1908 and then in 1948 after World War II.

There will be 10,500 athletes from 205 world countries taking part in this year’s Olympic Games with 21,000 media representatives to cover the events and 8.8. million tickets to be sold. The best-known members of the Estonian Olympic team will be Gerd Kanter, the 2008 Olympic winner in discus, Nikolai Novosyolov, the 2011 epee fencing world champion, and Heiki Nabi, the 2006 world champion in Greco Roman wrestling.
