Poland post issued three special Christmas stamps featuring Christmas story – the angel, the nativity of Jesus and three Wise Men.
Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ,observed as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.
Christmas is the perfect time to help other less fortunate people.
The Christmas Story
It is about 2000 years old story of the birth of saviour , the Jesus.
# The Angel
God sent the angel Gabriel to a young women, Mary who lived in the northern town of Nazareth and was engaged to Joseph.
The angel said to her ‘God has been very kind to you. You will become pregnant by the Holy Spirit and give birth to a baby boy and you will call him Jesus. He will be God’s own Son and his kingdom will never end.’
The Roman Emperor Augustus wanted to take census of his Empire.
He ordered everyone to return to the town where their families originally came from.
# The Nativity of Jesus
Mary and Joseph travelled a long way (about 70 miles) from Nazareth to Bethlehem.
When they reached Bethlehem they had problems finding somewhere to stay and they stayed with the animals.
Mary gave birth to Jesus, the Son of God in the animal house.
As the new day began, suddenly an angel appeared and said a Saviour has been born for you.
# Three Wise Men
When Jesus was born, a brand new bright star appeared in sky. Some Wise Men in faraway countries saw the star and guessed what it meant.
They were very clever men that studied the stars and had read in very old writings that a new star would appear when a great king was born.
They set out to find the new king and bring him gifts.
The Wise Men followed the star and reached Bethlehem.
The Wise Men bowed down,worshipped Jesus and spread the the gifts they had brought.
