Swamp Gromizelj is located in Semberija, which represents the alluvial plain formed by the confluence of the rivers Drina and Sava rivers.
Swamp is an ellipse, 1,650 meters long, with a maximum width of 760 meters. The only permanent body of water on the site Laketic whirpool, with a maximum depth of 4 meters.
Swamp Gromizelj with the environment is characterized by distinct flora and fauna diversity. Flora diversity is reflected in the presence of over 400 different plant species, among which are present endangered and rare species.

Yellow water lily
Aquatic macrophytes, yellow water lily (Nuphar luteum), belongs to the remains of the tertiary period of the Northern and Central Europe, relict character.
Nuphar luteum is present in other marshy wetlands in BiH, such as Hutovo Blato, Bardaca and Large and Small Quiet near Bosanski Samac.
Yellow water lily is normally located on the preliminary Red List of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the category of vulnerable species (V) according to IUCN categorization.
In December 2008, on the coast of Laketic whirpool revealed a large population of wetland nettle (Urtica kioviensis).
This relict species represents a new, rare and endangered species of the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Urtica kioviensis so far is not on the list of the flora of our country and that is why we believe that this discovery of scientific expert team of the Republic Institute for Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage of the Republic of Srpska , is precious.
Wetland nettle is on the Red List of Europe as a rare and endangered species in the category of vulnerable species (V) according to IUCN categorization.
