Singapore-Thailand Joint Stamp Issue featuring delicious Deserts

Singapore Post and Thailand Post issued a Singapore-Thailand joint stamp issue on 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between two countries reaffirming the long-standing bilateral ties.

Thailand and Singapore established their diplomatic relations on 20 September 1965, the same year when Singapore separated the country from Malaysia.

Traditional sweet delights from the respective countries – Ice-cream sandwich, and Mango sticky rice are depicted in the stamps.

Ice-cream Sandwich The ice-cream sandwich, a familiar and readily available from the street vendors has become a popular dessert for anyone out on the streets.

The vibrant colours of the bread and flavoured ice- cream are a fun way for an afternoon treat, or a dessert to end your meal.

Mango Sticky Rice Mango sticky rice (or kao neow mamuang in Thai) made from glutinous rice, coconut milk, and fresh mango is a traditional Thai dessert popular during the mango season in the months of April and May. The mango sticky rice is served warm or at room temperature.
