San Marino post will issue a set of stamps commemorating world kiss day. The World Kiss Day has been celebrated in the United Kingdom on the 6th July since 1990 and it spread soon worldwide.
Its aim is to pay homage to a gesture that contains in its intrinsic value the sense of love in its wider and universally recognized forms.
Kissing can be an enjoyable experience in and of itself. It is an expression and experience of intimacy.
A kiss is the act of pressing one’s lips against the lips or other body parts of another. Cultural connotations of kissing vary widely.
A kiss may be used to express sentiments of love, passion, affection, respect, greeting, friendship, and good luck, among many others. The word came from Old English cyssan “to kiss”, in turn from coss “a kiss”. The act of kissing has become a common expression of affection among many cultures worldwide.
The set designed by Olimpia Zagnoli shows kissing lips with the shape of a red heart full of passion and happiness.
