Year of the Snake – Singapore

2013 is the year of the Snake, begins on February 10th. The Snake is the sixth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 Animal Signs. Each sign also have five elements Metal, wood, water, fire and earth.

This year the snake’s nature from the five elements is “Water Snake”, so it becomes the main character of this year’s sign.

Water snake belongs to the spices of Crouching Snake. Water Snakes are influential and insightful. They manage others well and tend to be good for organizations to utilize as staff. They are quite motivated and intellectual, very determined and resolute about success.

They will have what they desire, despite the conclusion or outcome they generate because it is worth it to them to not only be recognized for their efforts, but to be rewarded as well.

Year of the snake carries the meanings of malevolence, cattiness and mystery, as well as acumen, divination and the ability to distinguish herbs. In some places, people believe that a snake found in their court can bring delight.

During Spring Festival, people like to paste onto their doors and windows the paper-cut ‘Fu’ character (happiness), combined with a snake twisting around a rabbit onto their doors and windows as a popular pattern indicating wealth.

People born in the Year of the Snake are reputed to be thoughtful and wise and to approach problems rationally and logically, seldom instinctively. Such people are complex beings, they are clever and men of few words from their birth.

They are likely to be jealous and suspicious. They should be cautious about what they discuss with others, as it might cause them to lose friendship and opportunities. They tend to overdo things.

They prefer to rely on themselves and have doubts about other people’s judgment. They are courteous with polite manners, but they can be headstrong. They are fickle and usually have problems in relationships or marriage problems.

    I have been collecting the Zodiac stamp every year since 1992. But this year, because I was old and forgetful, I was late and so failled to find the set of stamp for the year of snake ($2.01)anywhere. Can you help?
